Tamiya The Frog — 1/10 RC Off-Road Buggy Kit (58354)

The Tamiya Frog is one of the cars that made Tamiya famous. First released in 1983 and re-released as the 58354 re-issue you see here, it's a 2WD off-road buggy with the kind of build experience and driving character that converted an entire generation of kids — and a lot of dads — into lifelong RC builders.

If you're new to RC and looking for a first kit, the Frog is one of the three or four we recommend most often at the Lower Hutt shop. The build is approachable, the parts are well supported, the chassis takes a beating, and it's still genuinely fun to drive 40 years on. It also looks brilliant on a shelf when it's not on the dirt.

What you'll need to drive it

You'll need a 2-channel radio and servo, a 7.2V battery pack and a compatible charger, plus an ESC if one isn't included.
